snowhound 105 #1 Posted April 7, 2022 I have a 1986 310-8 with a K2415-46863 motor that the wiring harness has been chopped up. I have the wiring diragam and it shows 2 leads coming from the engine one is listed as ALT A.C OUTPUT .that goes to the head lights and the other listed as ALT D.C. OUTPUT going to the rectifier post on the ignition switch but no rectifier is shown on the diagram, shouldn't therer be one?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,390 #2 Posted April 7, 2022 The diode is part of the engine harness and is just before the connector at the engine. May be covered with tape and you should be able to feel it if you squeeze the tape. About 3/16" diameter x 5/16" long. The diode is shown in one of these drawings for the 3 amp system.
