kajamo240 3 #1 Posted June 30, 2009 I don't know if its just me or not but I finally got a snow blower for my wheel horse and I have a really, I don't know, obvious or silly question... The rod that comes off of the back of the snow blower to hook up to the front tach-a-matic is much much thinner than the one used for the mule drive. Is there a reason for this? The tach-a-matic barely holds in the snow blower because the rod is so thin. Now, do I pick up some steel pipe to fit in there properly or do I continue to use the thin rod because that is what it came with... Where the thin rod is, there are what to appear to be some sleeves that the rod goes thru. Here are some pictures of what I am talking about... Thanks! Sparky-(Admin) 23,130 #2 Posted June 30, 2009 Looks to me like you dont have the right part and someone stuck that piece in there. I wouldnt run it like that cause if the blower was to drop out of the front attachment point while blowing snow at full RPM's......well you know. Mike.......... TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #3 Posted June 30, 2009 That is a pre-Attach-Matic blower, Matt. It's made to bolt to the front holes on the side of the tractor frame. You can either look for a newer style mounting bracket for that blower or modify the existing one to correctly fit your front hitch. (it will need shortened and a larger pin with stop sleeves will need installed)
kj4kicks 154 #4 Posted June 30, 2009 The newer model tractors still have those holes in the frame, so you should be able to hook it up with what you have. Never personally tried it, but no reason it shouldn't work!
kajamo240 3 #5 Posted July 1, 2009 Thanks guys for the help. I will take a closer look at it tonight and see if there is the other set of holes on the frame or not.
