Jacob S 67 #1 Posted April 3, 2022 On my Kohler K181 I’ve been trying to adjust the governor because the engine revs up all the way and I don’t think that is too good for it. How do you adjust it properly?

squonk 43,782 #3 Posted April 3, 2022 You need to make sure your governor gear shaft tab isn't broken. There has been a lot of that goin on this past year. Look into the link Jim gave you. When adjusting the shaft you turn the shaft counter clockwise. It must stop against the governor gear inside. If it doesn't stop your shaft tab is broken and the engine must be completely torn down. 1
