Ifixoldjunk 778 #1 Posted March 28, 2022 So I made the mistake of washing the winter grime off my 68 bolens 1050, and now the expensive LED replacement headlights stopped working. Now I don’t know the first thing about electrical stuff so my first instinct was to grab a test light and start poking things Both sides of the headlights are positive with the switch in either the on or off position. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Ifixoldjunk 778 #2 Posted March 28, 2022 (edited) Both sides of the switch are positive when it’s on, when I turn it off only one is positive. now for most people that might mean something, but I unfortunately don’t know how to put a wrench on electricity. Now the wiring on this tractor is about shot, but I haven’t made any attempt to correct it because if I were to rewire it it would probably never run again😅 so would anyone be able to coach me through whatever this is? I’m thinking somethings shorting out seeing that everything is positive. But maybe I’m just not using the test light correctly. SylvanLakeWH 24,175 #3 Posted March 28, 2022 Check your shorts… er… for shorts. Trace the wires and look for disconnected sections. Fuse? Post wash problem tells me you brushed something loose or got water where it’s not wanted…blow dryer on the switch to dry it out. Ifixoldjunk 778 #6 Posted March 29, 2022 So as it turns out this inline fuse thing doesn’t hold the fuse tight enough. If I squeeze the two ends together the headlights come on.
