Searcher60 209 #1 Posted March 20, 2022 I have always been told that classic/modern Wheel Horse serial numbers include the year of manufacture in the first 2 digits. Just change the second number to the first, first number to the second, and you have the year of manufacture on both tractors and implements. I have also always found this to be the case on tractors and implements that I purchase where I actually knew the year of manufacture. So, if the 1st 2 numbers are 21, is that a 2012 DOM or not? The # starts 79xxxxx. Is that just a coincidence? I have 78360 deck, starts 59xxx, is that a 1995, or, just coincidence? My 78345 deck starts 21xxxx. On the 21xxx, the deck rollers are the correct rounded ones that did not come out until 1997. The 59xxx deck has the flat edge rollers. Is there a place to look this info up when needed as I thought it was in the 1st 2 digits. I also had a genuine 1997 48” 78360 deck, it also started with 79xxx, correct rounded edge rollers. Select one of them. Then look at one of the parts pages. In the top left corner there is a printer icon. Click on that and the page will reload to one that can be printed. MCU 0 #6 Posted May 11, 2022 Hi, forgive me if I'm replying incorrectly but I joined a little while ago but have not posted before. I just bought my second Horse, a GT-14 and am trying to date it. Being made 1969-1973, the SN on the tag is 559080, so I'm not sure the first two numbers being flipped is going to always be an accurate indicator of production year... 55 backwards is still 55. Also, if anyone has information on what appears to be an ARK 550 loader with no identifying tags or marks, manuals, etc., identifying that and finding a service manual will be next after pinpointing this GT-14. '69 model 1-7441, '70 model numbers 1-7451 1-7452 or 1-7453, '71 model numbers 1-0500 or 1-0501, '72 model numbers 1-0502 or 1-0503. This manual should be helpful.
