Mustang67ford 234 #1 Posted February 20, 2022 (edited) I am looking to get a new drive belt for a 414-8. I understand the OEM part number is a 7473 which is an 5/8" x 82" belt. I have also read where people have had many issues with aftermarket and OEM belts for some reason. First, is the OEM belt a 5L or a B? A "B" belt is a little taller and heavier duty so I would think this is what you want if going aftermarker. Next, is the OEM belt better or is there a preferred better aftermarket belt? Possibly the blue kevlar belt? If factory is there a difference between a 7473 and a 7473 HB? Edited February 20, 2022 by Mustang67ford
76c12091520h 3,917 #2 Posted February 20, 2022 Get an OEM belt the next time you come thru, it will fit right, it will work right, because it is right. No guesswork, no trying 2 or 3 to get one that might work. The Toro belt is 81.9" long x 5/8"
ebinmaine 72,934 #3 Posted February 20, 2022 Wheelhorse OE belts are B x 81.9. 5/8 x 81.9. Some have used TSC belts with success. I have not and don't recommend them for a manual transmission tractor. I found size inconsistencies. Lowell sells OE Wheelhorse belts for a very reasonable price. https://wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/product/7374-toro-wheel-horse-belt/ The Gates Green belts are also good but for the correct belt I'd just order above and eliminate any issues.
