5-06219 Spidle Shaft Mystery-108610

Recommended Posts

"Manic-Mechanic"

I just disassembled the deck and it's obvious the spindle shafts are service parts are possibly from kit 107984,85,86. Shaft part 108610. I know the key in the pulley & spindle is 937222. My question is what deck would this assembly be from originally? The only other clue is the blades 107437, 107438 3/4" 14-1/2x1 12-1/2x2

I am fine with it, just would like to know where these come from? I have gone through almost all PDF's I can find! The Spindle Identification Guide shows these is Section G, but that's not telling me what Deck? New Style 36"?

36" side or rear discharge. 3/4" keyed spindle shafts are from the late 70's to around 1984.

@ " manic mechanic "  when rebuilding those spindles , replace the bearing grease with lucas x- tra heavy duty . po;yurea , hi temp anti sling grease . easy to pop off bearing side shields . pocket screwdriver . clean out and re grease. seals on  the INSIDE  of the spindle housing should be removed , for future greasing at fitting . no noise or bearing whining with that grease . only a recommendation to the rebuilding detail . pete

The 108610 spindle shows up in the parts lists for these decks

Somehow I knew you'd know this! The Master! Now I couldn't find any of these, must be hundreds of decks!

At least now I know the parts are from an actual 36" deck! Unless there are more, different models that used this assembly? Lol

Thank you,

Cheers!

I started using brake caliper grease decades ago, never had a problem with bearing...

Notice there are only 5 decks in the list as the same deck model number was used for multiple years.

The XR, XS and YR are for a different style of tractor leaving just one rear discharge and one side discharge model.

I have model 5-0621 9. (5-0720 for base diagram) The spindles were changed to 3/4" x 6" with a key 937222 placed 2.5" up.  I have a newer spindle assembly apparently. So You sent me all those decks utilizing this assembly, which is excellent, but trying to get a diagram made up for parts, reference, etc

I'm working on this but it's a task! "just for fun"
