Yes sir. I worked on a briggs v-twin that... a PO had "adjusted the valves"

Well, turned out... it wasn't at TDC when they were adjusted... (were extremely loose once engine ran through full stroke) and the adjuster nut backed off, rockers popped off... and pushrods went into the bottom hole of the head, and down into the motor. Worst engine design on the planet... as if the adjuster nuts come loose for any reason... pushrods are going in...

MANY pieces of pushrod in the oil pan. Somehow... no damage to cam lobes... or any other components.

Valve lash is a very important aspect of engine maintenance. MUST be done right. :handgestures-thumbupright:

I should add... the PO adjusted the valves correctly on the right side... but the left side was not... :snooty:

I rebuilt the little devil, and ended up selling it. Guy I sold it to says it is still running strong... last time I heard from him... :banana-dance:

This thing should be a beast when im done, governor spacer replaced, both intake gaskets were leaking, both exh gaskets were missing, stripped head bolt leaking, valve lash way off (left side was .011 intake .020ex)(right was about +.007 intake and .021ex), one plug was cracked.  Defective starter (nose bushing damaged) was most likely my starting problem.

No cylinder damage or marks, no ridge at all.
