Scag Zero Turn

Recommended Posts

Pullstart

Today, I’m celebrating the beginning of my little blue truck assisted Wheel Horse collecting spree!

in Spring of 2018, Mrs. P told me “if you go buy a new zero turn, you can have as many Wheel Horses as you want!”

I promptly went to the Scag dealer in town and picked out a nice orange beaut.  For a $300 finance charge, they offered 0% interest.  Since then, she’s been crying to pay it off and I have stubbornly insisted she doesn’t pay a cent more than the scheduled payment because we get to use their money instead of our own… and we already paid for the privilege.

Well, our last bill arrived yesterday.  It’ll be paid in full and has been a great machine.  Regular oil and hydro fluid changes, clean outs and a couple sets of blades and it’s good to go.

I bought my zero turn outright. It was the last one that Lowes had (I bought it in late fall, believe it or not).

The Scag I had was a wonderful machine... 60 inch deck... liquid cooled... BUT... since I have to mow... A LOT of land... I decided to buy something new... as I was throwing money into the old machine replacing maintenance parts... then the hydrostat trans went out... and even though I replaced it... put new rings in it... I need a 100% reliable machine. So... I bought a Deere.

While I have had a few issues with it (won't go into detail to derail the thread)... it starts, runs, and cuts. AND... I only made 1 payment on it... (that payment HURT... but was worth it).

Odd... selling the Scag gave me enough money to buy a new Deere... :scratchead:

OFF TOPIC... but near me... there is a Wheel Horse Zero turn for sale... anybody every heard of that before?

@Snoopy11 they pop up once in a while.  They were pretty bare bones, chain drive wheels,

possibly the beginning to Dixie Chopper if I recall.

The only reason you didn't get a ticket for that load was the troopers couldn't stop laughing!

Good deal.  Well, as I was just saying in the beginning, this is a celebration of paying off a debt.  :handgestures-thumbupright:
