I pulled the lever to release tension / disengage the tranny. it made it loose but not loose enough...any tips... Thanks, Will Just did this on my '93 520H last week. 1. Remove side kick panel covering belt 2. Disconnect PTO engagement assy 3. Remove PTO brake shoe 4. Remove mower drive belt from pulley 5. Removing right rear wheel makes things easier to get to, but you don't have to. 6. Put a wrench on the idler retaining bolt in center of idler wheel from the belt cover area (it will fit in space) and push down on wrench, removing tension from belt. 7. Walk belt off hydro pulley, working through fan and walking fan around with belt, being carefull not to strain fan blades. This seemed to work better than walking belt off PTO pulley for me. 8. Put new belt on in reverse of these steps and adjust PTO brake shoe per manual. It can be a true test of manual dexterity doing this by yourself, but I did it in about 45 minutes. If I can do it, so can anyone. Adjusting the PTO brake took the longest part of the job. Pain in the A** little thing that it is.
