Paul Hoelscher 4 #1 Posted January 21, 2022 Hi, I am new to this forum and this is my first post. A few months ago I added a wheel horse 633 to my tractor collection, it is in real nice shape and I plan on restoring it. It has the Tillotson carburetor on it and the machine just won’t start. I put new valves on the tractor compression is really good, it has good spark. My mechanic friend started it and it ran for about 20 seconds and died, I cannot get it restarted. It will spit a little but will not stay running. It does seem like it is flooding, Does anybody have any ideas? Any help would be great.

Achto 29,388 #6 Posted January 22, 2022 I don't own a K141, but I have never seen a Tillotson on a Kohler K model.

I recall an illustration of one, uncommon...updraft vs side draft, they went to the #16 pretty quickly id assume.
Paul Hoelscher 4 #9 Posted January 22, 2022 Yes all my other Kohler motors have side draft carburetors, this is new to me. I really wanna keep this carburetor on this machine, I don’t want to change it out to a different carburetor. One way or the other I’m going to make this work. I really like the look of this tractor, I am really looking forward to the restoration.
Snoopy11 5,718 #10 Posted January 23, 2022 It looks like it is flooding... hmm... Well, try this... and tell me what it does. Spray carb cleaner into the intake and try to start the engine... Does it start/run? Don
Paul Hoelscher 4 #11 Posted January 24, 2022 Thank you for your input, sorry it took a while to get back to you. I decided to check out the magneto and the condenser. The motor does have a good spark so I don’t think the magneto is a problem. I am going to put it back together and get the fly wheel back on and try out what you have suggested. Before I took off the fly wheel I did manage to get it started, it ran for about a minute and then died. This machine seems to be a challenge and it will certainly keep me on my toes.
