grinchsr 642 #1 Posted January 15, 2022 Is it common for these old Kohlers to shake at low idle because they are rubber mounted? The rubber seems to be in good condition with no tears deterioration.

SylvanLakeWH 27,616 #5 Posted January 15, 2022 To answer your question: Yes it is common. Some folks replace the rubber with rigid spacers. I’ve kept my rubber spacers… they work…
grinchsr 642 #6 Posted January 15, 2022 I did turn it up a little but my hand held tach died awhile back so RPM's are unknown, It did smooth out a bit when I did but I don't want to go too high
grinchsr 642 #7 Posted January 15, 2022 Thanks for the replies. This machine is only going to get limited use around the yard pulling a trailer and a splitter and do some tilling so a little shaking won't bother me. I will kick the idle up a little too. I picked it up locally after a tree fell on it and broke the steering wheel and the seat pan. After a few parts and some TLC it turned out to be a solid machine and it's a hydro. 2
pfrederi 18,357 #8 Posted January 15, 2022 1250 sounds pretty fast don't be fooled...Higher idle won't hurt anything. You are supposed to run a hydro at high rpm anyway. I have K-341 on a charger...it has a Chicom carb. cannot get to idle nicely but runs well up towards full throttle so I just live with it as that is what it runs at 99% of the time.
