What are the widest tyres I can fit standard rims?

Hi All,

I have been offered some 26 x 12 - 12 carlyle super lug tyres (look superb!) for my horse, anyone know if that width will fit easily onto the standard rear rims of my '68 charger 12?

Although they will physically mount to the Charger wheels, the sidewalls will be squeezed so close together that when you air them up they will probably be about 32 inches tall. :thumbs2:

The narrowest recommended rim width for a 26-12X12 tire is 10 inches. (your originals are only 7 inches wide)

Cheers TT, I thought it was a bit of a long shot - shame!

Check the Internet for Paul Paulsen wheels. You may be able to find some there that will fit and are wider OR they may be able to make them! I needed some odd wheels once and they built them for under $50 each with shipping. They may even have centers close to the original and it would still be cheaper than buying the tires yourself.

Can anyone tell me what the how wide of wheel is available without having something custom made?
