when first started with choke get put put & blue smoke runs rough for 10 sec.is there an adjustment?

The carb on these is very large for the engine, i normally choke when cold and as it cranks over shove the choke in...or you'll hose the plugs down with fuel...you might have a failing plug also..

That is most of the time Oil, maybe you have some oil passing by the valve guides?

 

How many hours does the machine have?

You notice any lose in oil?

When choked, the engine is intake causes a lower pressure in the combustion chamber so it may be pulling oil off the cylinder walls around the rings and burning it.

With small engines, I don't worry about a puff of blue when starting with the choke on.

Even some brand new engines seem to do this a bit.

 

Now, if you are fogging mosquito's with a heavy smoke then you may have an issue.
