RED-Z06 2,601 #1 Posted December 14, 2021 My C100, i did LED bulbs and i love them but my sockets are..sub par, one the spring is about gone and the bulb makes poor contact with little pressure against it. Can the metal socket and harness be swapped?
RED-Z06 2,601 #2 Posted December 14, 2021 Maybe buy something like this..cut the harness and swap the spring and contact?

Gregor 4,847 #5 Posted December 14, 2021 (edited) You can nip the wires on your sockets, pull the innards out, and replace with new innards. Springs and all. If your original sockets are decent. While you have the innards out, clean the sockets with a brush. Use dielectric grease after reassembly. Edited December 14, 2021 by Gregor 3 1
ebinmaine 73,070 #6 Posted December 14, 2021 I'd also add to run a ground wire to the battery ground. Depending on the hood hinge to be ground is iffy at best, especially when using LED lights that can turn on and off nearly instantly.

peter lena 9,321 #9 Posted December 14, 2021 @RED-Z06 living in Florida with moisture laden air , use dielectric grease in all your contact / make up areas, eliminate the corrosion , good opportunity to also get rid of tight chafing areas. stick on mounting pads , let you make up a nice wire run . https://www.cabletiesandmore.com/cable-tie-mounts-nylon?gclid=Cj0KCQiAnuGNBhCPARIsACbnLzr1F01b93kFMEjVL4NO7tPZ-FEifEppQmn7plnParmUc_Bpt58vfUoaAgCWEALw_wcB , you can pick up a handfull at , local h/w store , pete
