Bolt size belt cover on engine

I have a 1968 Wheel Horse 1 6231 Raider12. On the belt cover, the mounting bolt for the front hole that screws into the block. Can someone please tell me the bolt size and thread pitch?

Should be a 7/16" - 14

There's the 4 bolts that attach the output shaft cover that are the same size. The top left bolt holds the belt cover in place

The hole has a little rust, the bolt starts and won't go further. I have not put a wrench on it yet. I have WD-40 soaking it. 7/16 x 14 thread x3/4" seems to big.

If you have the 12hp engine then it should be the right size. Believe that 10-14hp all have a 7/16" 14 hole in those positions. If you have a tap, try to run that in the hole first. Maybe the threads are a little messed up? May have to add a washer or 2 under the bolt if it seems too long.

I found out why the bolt would not fit. Someone broke a #2 pencil off inside the hole. I have the Wheel Horse running. Sat for around 30 years. 

 Now I have the need for all of the parts to mount the 6-4111 dozer blade to the frame. The shocks and rods disappeared over the years. Unless you know of another way to make it fit.
