Up to the task

Ok, I know. I'm going to take a beating on this but out of fun, I decided to try my 551 "Nut Roaster" at pulling last weekend. I have a 3hp Tucky in it while the 5.5 is awaiting a rebuild. I pulled near 750ish on a drag sled and it didn't even bog down. Wayne AKA Crazywheelhorseman was there to see it.

Well, pics are soon to follow, but I had a neighbor come by today and ask if I could help him with his Massey Harris TO50 today. It was in his back yard and I decided working on it would be much easier at my home. 46 John Deere B, won't start, 46 Farmall H out of gas. D160 out of gas, 308 out of gas, C125 out of gas. Gas cans out of gas, me no way in hell am I going to push a 4,000 lb tractor. The only thing that had gas was the 551. I fire her up and take a spin over there with my tow chain. After hooking up, I ease out the clutch in first gear and to my suprise no strain to move the beast. I had a few neighbors looking as well as my friend Bobby looking at me like what the heck are you going to do with that? So, looking like a gorilla sitting on a door knob and my 551 looking like a matchbox to the TO 50, I made my way up the ever so slight incline of my road and into my driveway. I'll post some pics tomorrow. I will tell you, I bit every nail I have on the short ride. I sure was suprised though. What a well build machine with alot of heart.
