Redbird 1 #1 Posted June 20, 2009  Desperately need rear end for the 211-5SB I WAS going to bring to the show. Went to change the rear tires and they were so stuck on that litterally NOTHING would loosen them. We wrecked the axils trying. I swear the former owner super glued the rims on. I don't have a lot of money but I can pick it up if its not too far from Frederick MD. Even a couple hrs to come get it is no problem. Never felt so disheartened before. This the first tractor I've ever bought myself, and i was really looking forward to bringing it to the show.
Buzz 502 #2 Posted June 20, 2009 Get it on your truck or trailer somehow, bring it and your tool box to the show, buy a rear there and change it. Problem solved. Or come without your 'Horse anyway.
perry 82 #3 Posted June 20, 2009 in the future leave the rims on the tractor and strip the tires off.
Sparky-(Admin) 23,138 #4 Posted June 20, 2009 in the future leave the rims on the tractor and strip the tires off. I agree with Perry. I ended up popping the axles out of a Crafsman with the same rear end set up as yours after beating the rims with a hammer trying to get them off the axles. I shoulda swapped tires out while still on the tractor. Mike........
Redbird 1 #5 Posted June 20, 2009 Thanks Perry, but we already tried that. Whoever had it before me put the rims on with the small side IN. Ever try to get a tire on or off the LARGER side of the rim with a small crow bar and a couple screwdrivers? My hubby has been working on mowers for 30 yrs now. Believe me--we tried EVERYTHING--from heat - to sprays - to Naval Jelly. Now I'm just hoping someone halfway close has one they'll let go cheap so I can fix this poor broken pony and bring it to the show. Disabled and a fixed income makes the $$$ tight lol. Unfortunately, loading it on the truck "as is" and bringing it to the show (as suggested by another member) isn't and option. But, thanks for the suggestions anyways. :thumbs2:
