K241 misfires

Recommended Posts

Got my trusty c100 out a few times recently to knock down some high grass and run the lawn sweeper around to keep ahead of the leaves and each time it does the same weird thing. It starts up and runs fine for 15-20 minutes and then it will start sputtering and backfiring and choke and throttle position doesn't fix or worsen it. I end up parking it and works fine the next day for again 15-20 minutes. I'd say the carb needs attention but why wait 20 minutes. Perhaps once it reaches operating temp something isnt jiving. Any suggestions are appreciated

Clogged vent in the gas cap?  Try running it with the gas cap slightly loose.

If the tank cap isn't it, dump the bowl in the carb.

Does the C-100 have a coil and condenser? Good place to start if it does.

:text-yeahthat: A bad condenser can cause the issues that you describe.

Next day off I'll give the gas cap thing a try and if not I have a spare condenser to try. Apparently these things dont last long, this would he the 3rd one in 3 yrs of owning it
