I picked up this 310-8 from the original owner the other day. She runs like new and cuts the grass very nice, It even came with a bagger and chrome hubcaps that I'm currently cleaning up. I wasn't planning on buying this but the price was right. This is the very first tractor I've ever bought that I won't have to totally rebuild and repaint.

Now thats a nice clean original tractor. You did good. Is the paint that shiny or is it just wet from a bath :thumbs2: ?

Ken, isnt it a great feeling not to have to do work on a tractor for once and take a break from everything. But then again you have a good runner and want another project like we all do :thumbs2:

She is definitely one nice looking machine

Hi Sparky. Thats the paints natural shine. I still haven't given it a bath yet.

Right you are Chris. I've been working on a C-100 in the garage. I did take a few trips around the yard tonight with the C-100 after a motor install and a little rewiring. I think I'm going too make a puller out of the C-100. Nothing fancy, just something too mess around with in the stock classes. Are you going to the pulls in Redding this weekend?

Ken,

Do I sense that you are getting hooked again?? You went from no tractors to two in 1 week. Very nice 310. I need to come over sometime and check out the C100. Glad it is working out for you. It would make a nice puller.

Very nice 310-8! She looks like she was well kept and maybe not worked to hard. While they are fun to work, it is nice to get one that needs nothing.

Steve B: You are correct. I'm getting a little hooked again. I need too be careful how many I drag home though as that Big White Horse in my garage is takin up all my hiding and work space.

I might be picking up a Wheel Horse loader this week as well.

Thats a good looking tractor. Do those two blade decks throw out as good of a cut as the three blade set ups do? I need a second deck and I didn't know if they were worth it or not. :thumbs2:

Cut quality isn't even close...the two blade 37" SD is a much better performer than the old 42-inchers.

Be warned that the 37" deck is a diagonal arrangement and will only fit your tractor if you put 6" wheels on the front and replace the spindles with the longer version. Otherwise the left front tire will rub the deck's leading edge.

Thanks for that info Steve. I was considering upgrading too larger tires all around but the more I think about it I think I'm going too leave it as it came from the factory.

I assume the 6" tires and longer spindles would work on the C-series as well if you wanted to use the 37" 2-blade side discharge deck.

Could someone tell me the length and part number of the longer spindles, as they compare to the stock spindles?

thanks,

George

I second that, My 37" SD cuts very well, as good as any (And better than most) of my neighbours High end modern machines.
