No Kill Switch is Killing me

Recommended Posts

I got a replacement 8HP Koehler engine for my 1973 Commando, that has a kill switch on it. I can't seem to make it work by wiring it the way the diagram says to. But, I can't figure out how to bypass the switch. Any suggestions?

Bypass so the switch does not work? Magneto ignition just remove the wire from the switch and insulate the terminal on the wire so it can not contact the metal chassis or any source of battery power.

Can't make it work in what way? Switch won't kill the motor? Motor won't run at all?

According to the wiring diagram I found for a Commando, it has battery ignition. Did you get a motor with magneto ignition, and still trying to use the battery type ignition switch?
