D Wesley Hardesty 0 #1 Posted September 20, 2021 I have a 522XI Toro Wheelhorse tractor with a Kohler 22 horse command engine. I bought it with the engine not running. The engine turns over fine and has 90 # compression in both cylinders. It has new coils and new plugs. When it fires it comes through the carburetor. I have had the front of the engine off to check the cam crank timing and it is good. Is there any way the flywheel timing can be off. Any ideas?

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,389 #3 Posted September 20, 2021 #6 appears to be the flywheel key which can get sheared off if the flywheel is not torqued to spec. That will disturb the timing. https://www.partstree.com/models/ch22-66545-kohler-command-pro-twin-engine-made-for-toro-22hp-16-4kw/05-ignition-charging-4/ Garry
