Missing old snow thrower parts

Recommended Posts

Troyh

I'm missing a few parts on an old snow thrower. Just looking for a good source for parts. I have a 1966 Wheel Horse 1056 with what I canTell is a  toro 6 1211 thrower on it. I'm missing 2 of the the shroud rollers and the cable. A few other bolts, but I'm sure I can find them. Any help would be appreciated.

@Troyh, shroud rollers ?  did you mean chute guide rollers ? at the base of the discharge chute ? if that's  what you need , your local h/w store  would have them in the small pull out drawer section . pete

the cable

I'm not sure the original diameter of the cable but I just bought 33 feet of 1/16" stainless cable (aka 'wire rope') for under $8.00 on Amazon, time will tell how it holds up but I think it will be fine.

I also saw the same cable plastic covered, but a longer length, for something like $15.00

Use the extra cable for a trellis to grow cucumbers on.

Looks like TroyH is a 'drive by poster'.  H'ain't been back.

Sorry I never got an email telling me I had replies. I tried finding the rollers locally, no such animal. I have seen a couple come up on Ebay but they must be made of gold because the wanted quite a bit of money just for one. I used a couple washers and a spacer for now, but doesn't glide as well. I did find the cable at lowes. I'm picking it up today. I tried a few different lengths of paracord till I found the length. I worked on it last weekend and everything is running strong. 20211114_154826.jpg.df5241ce97cf8da3fa3f057643a81d04.jpg

@Troyh You'll want to visit your profile, account settings, and notification settings.

To the best of my understanding, emails do not go out for every update to a topic thread -- even ones you that you start.

You can get a daily digest of the content you are following that you have not already viewed (following = started by you, or commented on by you, or "followed" by you, or posted by members followed by you). You can also get an email notifying you of any PM you've received.
