upstateyankee50 59 #1 Posted September 16, 2021 well guys here is an update on the issues I have had with the charger 10 ;it seems by chatting with another wheel horse dealer whom I have known and bought items from for years ;told me that I have a key way issue in the fly wheel ;though he did mentioned that there are 2 pins that go north and south and to be really careful as not to bust one on the removal and then the fly wheel will be junk' the question is where are they as today spinning the fly wheel slowly I couldn't find what he was telling me ;this will be the 2nd wheel that I have ever have taken off and for sure want to be very careful as not to mess up anything ;'so if anyone could send a picture of where they are that would really help ;now if this doesn't solve the problem I am at wits end after weeks trying to find the problem of not wanting to start or at least fire up
Gregor 4,847 #2 Posted September 17, 2021 (edited) The trigger pins, if you have them, are embedded directly into the edge of the flywheel. This is the best pic I could find. Pages 45, 46 and 47 explains this type of ignition system. The thing is, no one here knows what type of ignition system you have. At least I don't. Is it original? Did a previous owner install something new? If you have it tore down, can you post pics of anything? Everything? If original, you should have a black wire coming from your magneto to the ignition switch. This is a kill wire. If it were me, I would temporarily cut this wire as close to the motor as possible. It may be shorted some place. It could also be shorted under the flywheel. You may have to pull the flywheel to find the solution to this problem. There are 3 black wires going to the switch. Cutting the wrong one, won't help much. It is the SMALLER black wire. AGAIN ! THIS IS ALL ASSUMING IT'S ORIGINAL !
