Moonshine*Connoisseur 466 #1 Posted September 10, 2021 I have a 1277 that needs its lift cylinder either rechromed or just the whole cylinder replaced. What's the best course of action ? Cylinder is pitted from prior rusting and leaks mainly when its pulled in. Axle seals leaking too. Looking to get this corrected before winter as this is my "white fluffy stuff battle machine". ebinmaine 71,804 #2 Posted September 10, 2021 Give Lowell at Wheelhorse Parts and More a call. He's in our vendor list. They do rebuild the cylinders. I'm not sure what to say about the rechromeing but he should be able to advise you. http://x65.d8d.myftpupload.com/contact/
953 nut 59,216 #3 Posted September 10, 2021 your cylinder (if the factory unit) is welded closed and not something you can repair yourself unless you have a metal lath and welder and are very good with both. You may want to buy new hoses while you are at it. https://wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/product/welded-cylinder-repair/ Lowell will also have the seal for that rear axle.
