I know most of you prefer the big block kohlers but I saw this on FB and grabbed it pretty reasonable this evening. I wanted the pull start which I never see. I’m going to put it on something this winter provided I can get it running.

Nice find. Very easy to start with the pull start, if you get 'er tuned. I think you have me beat by a horse.

I hope so. So far a no spark and 60 lbs compression. I’m looking forward to winter.😀

The serial number will tell you what year it was born.

Small block Kohlers can be tuned to run like a purring kitten. And they have awesome torque.

Absolutely agreed.

They sip fuel and pull very well.

I hope it can be saved. I’ve had a few over the years and they have their own sound.

Love the 8HP with an 8 Speed.  Really nice to operate.

I have the 865 hydro and there is not much torque left over once the sundstrand steals its share.
