W9JAB 156 #1 Posted June 15, 2009 When I first my tractor I wanted to tear into it and do a restore, But the wife convinced me (i.e. her honey do list) that it would be better to leave it alone and would be worth more to a collector unrestored. Well it did need to do a few things. I need this tractor for the leaf season, and it gets dark fast, so I got a set of fog lamps from the auto parts soter for $12 bucks. Not wanting to drill in to the hood I was able to mount them with a strap across the back. and an indecator lamp on the dash would be kool Also need rear lights to see what the Brinley leaf sweeper was doing (more about that peace of junk in a new post) And then I needed a was to pull stuff around,(stop laughing) it's been working for four years! Now when I got this tractor the "OIL" looked like mud and had not been changed in forty years, when I changed the oil I see why it's a pain in the ass and makes a mess, so a little plumbing and....... Now one last thing, just because your cutting grass don't mean you not going to get thirstyso ....... The kid will never miss this off the 10 speed. and it works great. Sparky-(Admin) 23,138 #4 Posted June 15, 2009 Looks like a nice neighborhood. I bet every other house on the street has a John Deere from Home-Depot right? Good to see someone using an old horse to take care of the yard. Mike........

stevebo-(Moderator) 8,527 #6 Posted June 15, 2009 Now that is dangerous..... putting a glass bottle against vibrating metal like that.... you need a cozie to cushion the vibration ! Love it :thumbs2:
04fxdwgi 0 #7 Posted June 16, 2009 Awesome !!!! HAHAHAHAHA........ I picked up a "gimballed" adult beverage holder at the local marine hardware store, one for use in boats, but haven't installed it yet. Will keep my beverage level, no matter what I am doing. Will probably attach on bottom of armrest

Well Mike, when I was taking these pictures one of my "Deere" neighbors came over and asked if my tractor was broke and offered me his J.D. You should have seen the look on his face when I explained that that old 66 will outlive the both of us and defiantly out live his Deere, He had to admit that that old Horse dose a nice job on the lawn, Ya, I said, I guess grass hasn't changed that much in the last 40 years! :thumbs2:
