Tecumseh HH100 breather orientation?

Recommended Posts

1968 model year HH100.

Looking at the inside of the breather there are a couple of tiny little pin holes. Am I correct in thinking those go to the upward side as installed?

Also, should I put a skim coat of silicone on that gasket or no?

If nobody else gets back I'll check for my old teccy service book. May be in there. I thought the little holes went down for oil to drain, and it had a little reed valve to control the vent..

I think the holes go down, lets the breather drain.

I wish you and I lived closer to one another as I have an HH100 I would give you for spare parts. I’ve got it on marketplace for next to nothing and haven’t heard a peep from anyone interested. It has a bad coil and they’re hard to find and more than I want to spend.

If you do a search on YouTube there's a way that you can use some sort of sensor.. maybe a Ford brake sensor if I remember right? That sensor catches or creates the signal anyway.

Wired in with a GM 4 pin module that does the electric work.

Thanks Eric , I saw some of that info but the engine had blown head gaskets one more than one occasion according to prior owner. I have just completed a Predator 301 cc swap into it. I’m not a purist for the most part and want reliability.

Absolutely understandable.

I do like when these tractors are original as possible but reliability comes first
