RJ Hamner 1,025 #1 Posted August 8, 2021 When I started to tear down the 8 horse (Kohler) on my latest project I noticed that it had 2 head gaskets. Thought it was kinda odd but didn't give it too much thought. Finally got a manual for a cast iron 9 horse Briggs (another project) and noticed that the parts manual calls for 2 head gaskets. Was this the norm for the older/smaller cast iron engines from the early 60's???
