D250 Intermittent Spark

Recommended Posts

Good Day All
I recently picked up a D250 with intermittant spark with a Ducettier Distributor and I want to confirm the correct parts.
I have found the part numbers for the coil, condenser and points.  MPE IC14SB, ECH EP153, ECH CS251.
My current coil is blue and I am questioning that.
I am still looking for the cap and rotor.   I have one cap and two rotors and both rotors are different.
I have seen the mention of a EP163 and EP173, but also seen the parts dont fit with no mention of the distributor type.
Anyone have a lead on the rotor and cap in the US?
Or, anyone have a place across the pond that will ship to the US that I could pick these up.
I have a note about an EVL 4/6X, but am unsure as well.

Renault is French for "Totally Screwed Up" I worked at Napa for 10 years and tried in vain to come up with the correct ignition parts. I would join My Old Machine and ask this question. Include your distributor number. Mostly European guys in there and maybe someone could help you. Industrial engine manufacturers were notorious for changing things. Also depends on what the motor was used for to determine what was used. How did you come up with the points and condenser numbers?

Also check for excessive distributor shaft slop. I don't know about Renault (Except the cars were junk) :) but Continental Industrial were known for this.

You might find some info here:

Thanks for the link to the Hot Spark, I will review and ask them questions and check for slop.

Concerning all of the part numbers, those were all picked up after hours of searching in these forums and others and reviewing what I have and what I dont have.
