pfrederi 18,638 #1 Posted June 11, 2009 Has anyone come up with a clever way of hauling more fuel on a C series. The C-81 is fine as she can run for hours on a tank...but the C175 8 spd and the 418A have pretty limited run times. I am temporarily mowing some neighbors yards and I have to run down the road with a 2.5 Gal plastic gas can on my lap or take the time to run home in mid mowing to avoid the long walk home (been there done that when I tried to do it on one tank....) HorseFixer 2,013 #2 Posted June 11, 2009 Short of comming up with some half baked setup and adding an extra tank just use a small wagon and fill some gas tanks and take em down the road with you. Set them in variouse areas (you will soon know where). where you will need to fill up at. :thumbs2:
Bow_Extreme 550 #3 Posted June 11, 2009 Can you Fab something up to fit on the back behind the seat, somewhat like a "D" series tank. I know this would restrict you from tilting the seat pan back on the C Series but you shouldn't really have to tilt it when your mowing anyways. You could always make it somewhat removeable. I know there would be some issus to work around but I'm sure you can come up with something.
Nick 13 #4 Posted June 11, 2009 Not sure if there are any pictures in the photo area but Wheel Horse did sell an auxiliary fuel tank that mounted on the rear of the tractor. Its also been a while since I looked at one so cant remember how attachment of the tank and lines was accomplished.
gwgdog66 23 #5 Posted June 12, 2009 A 5 gallon tank would be nice to have on a C-Series. Like Duke pointed out you will soon know about where they will need fuel after a couple of times mowing.
64s 83 #6 Posted June 12, 2009 I'm with Nick, there was a factory setup for fuel - just do a search. In a pinch, get a short piece of angle iron, a nut and bolt and a couple of washers, and a bungee cord. Bolt the angle iron to the rear hitch and use the bungee cord to strap a can onto it. I've done it - quick and simple - especially if you only need it temporarily. :thumbs2:

gwgdog66 23 #10 Posted June 24, 2009 :thumbs2: Jeez!! RCPW has it. Toro-Lawnboy 83300 FUEL-TANK ACCESSORY $423.69 I'm back thinking a wagon and a 5 gallon fuel can would be my option.
pfrederi 18,638 #11 Posted June 24, 2009 At that price I couldn't afford to put anything in it Guess the trailer and gas can will have to suffice....
