Ranger 800 Electric

Recommended Posts

There's a "Ranger 800 Electric" for sale in the next town over from me. Looks like a cute little bogger, and in pretty nice shape. Looks like it has the original round deck too with no rot or rust.

I did a quick search, and it looks like these little square hoods were fiberglass rather than metal.

Are these Desirable at all? Or kinda the black sheep of the WH land? I'm sure they are not as desirable as any of the older horizontal Kohlers are.

Anybody got one?

Here's the pics from the FBM ad. Listing says "needs work / battery", so I sent him a message asking exactly what that means. A seized motor and transmission? Or just a tube in one of the tires? Lol.

Light duty little guy, end of the Ranger name. 32" cut, 8hp Teccy, 3 speed Peerless rear end. Beats a modern mower but not exactly up to WH general standards..

Looks well preserved though. Cute thing to putter around on if the price is right. They dont bring much..

Just got a reply back, he said the key switch needs replacement, and it needs a battery. Motor turns over.

I may run over and take a look, cant hurt.

Thanks for the heads up on the Peerless transmission, good to know.

On a side note, I tried looking in the manual section for this tractor. I found them, but all it has is a parts breakdown, no "operating manual". Is there one out there? Or did they not do a manual for these?
