Rusty Tinsnips 477 #1 Posted June 2, 2021 How tight should the PTO engagement rod be? Mine engages real easy and seems like something is slipping when I mowed last week for the first time with the Raider 14. I could here the engine "unload" and the grass was only kinda half cut. Then it would load back up and start cutting. I have seen videos that had the PTO rod actually bending at full lock.
Stepney 2,354 #2 Posted June 2, 2021 Set the rod in the half-way detent on the bracket. Adjust the two lower nuts so that the clutch is just contacting the lining. That should be good. Not a herculean effort to engage, but it should be firm. Slippage will ruin it. 1

Ed Kennell 42,130 #7 Posted June 3, 2021 IMO, this is the best PTO design Wheel Horse made. Easy to adjust, no moving parts to wear out.
