Aaron Hero 1 #1 Posted May 25, 2021 I recently got a wheel horse Charger 12, for some reason I can’t get the mower deck to lift in the rear. The front pin on each side locks in place bet when I pull the lift lever back it won’t lock into the detent. There are two steel plates with 3/8” holes in the lower ends dangling about the center of the deck, look like they should be attached to something, not sure if they attach to deck or another implement. I’ve looked up serial and model number but no luck, not sure if it’s even a charger 12, just going by appearance. I’ve included a few pics if it helps! Thanks! WHX?? 51,116 #4 Posted May 25, 2021 (edited) Guess I don't understand what you mean about the steel plates dangling. The should be a part 25 hanging off the rock shaft or on the deck. It should have a trunnion part 28 threaded on one end. The goes up to the rockshaft and what lifts the deck. Complete instructions in the manual Garry provided. Very possible a PO lost the rod and came up with something homemade. Edited May 25, 2021 by WHX24
Handy Don 13,522 #5 Posted May 25, 2021 It is also possible to adjust the trunnion, if it's there, to try to lift the deck too high. Then the deck frame stops hit the tractor frame under the footrests before the lift arm can reach the detents.

Rfp55 33 #8 Posted May 27, 2021 Late to help, but on my Charger deck - only front picked up. I adjusted the "L" shaped pickup hanger to max lift ( run nut down i think). Then put a 2x2 or 2x4 scrap stub of wood on front area of deck under the front, horizontal section of the deck bail. 1 5/8" thick Anything. Then back will lift after the front and be about level with the deck wheels 2" off the ground. If satisfied, and you have placement figured out, can screw your shim on the deck. Anyway, that is with my 69 Charger with a 5-7361 Rear discharge deck. Yours may have similar situation, or maybe a different block size needed.
