Bull 34 #1 Posted May 25, 2021 Hello Everyone, I am going to be changing my engine & transmission oil soon on my 417A and I was looking for recommendations. I have read 30W Rotella for the engine but the only one I see is diesel rated. Is that okay to use? For the transmission the manual states 10/30 or 10/40 but I was wondering what brand and grade is most used. As always thanks. Bull
Maxwell-8 4,367 #2 Posted May 25, 2021 Diesel oil is just fine, if not better in my eyes. Diesel-oil is a better oil, because it can handle higher pressures. For the tranny, I am gone sit back and listen what the others have to say.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,472 #3 Posted May 25, 2021 The diesel rating on the bottle will be Cx something. The C is for compression = diesel engine There should also be a Sx rating if approved. The S is for spark = gasoline engine Wheel Horse published Lubrication Charts. There is a note in the manual that states the recommendations are up to date and may differ from the info originally in the manuals. Click on the fuzzy picture in the link to see the two lube pages for your model Garry
