Briggs & Stratton carb

So after a carb clean and rebuilt kit I had fuel leaking out the intake of the intake of the carb. My question is, is there supposed to be a gasket on the fuel needle? And I checked the float and is working too.

B&S made a lot of different carbs.... There are 70 pages of carb instructions in tech B&S manual...   I am going to guess by looking at the tube that you have a 2 piece flo-Jet... In whch case there is no gasket.

If the needle has a black tip there might not be a seat, if there's no black tip and it is one solid color of metal there should be a rubber seat.  That main jet you have in the pic isn't causing your problem.  It's either needle and seat or a float issue.  Float could be getting stuck or have a hole and filling with gas, etc.

That tapered seal at your arrow should seat and seal but they do not once they are removed. There is a gasket in a kit for something else that will work but found teflon pipe sealer paste works well. Use a toothpick to apply a small amount to the taper only and you are good to go. The sealer I use is made by Permatex.

If a 2 piece flow jet does not leak gas, this means that you are out of gas.:ychain: :D

They can be a PITA to get to stop leaking. The above suggestions are all valid. I've had a couple that I gave up on and purchased an el-cheapo from ebay. I've actually had good luck with them.

Try turn it in, then backing it out, turn it in tight again, then back it out, repeat that a few times. Sometimes that helps it seat.
