OutdoorEnvy 1,763 #1 Posted April 28, 2021 I am wanting to get an extra set of rear wheels to put AG tires on when needed, but run turf most of the time. I have a 1985 312-8, Can I run a 12" rear wheel from another brand? Like JD, Craftsman, etc. or do I need to stick to wheel horse exclusively for fit? Ideally I would like a wheel horse set of 5x12's so I can run a 6-12 AG tire. But coming across those seems unlikely. Any input and experience would be appreciated! ebinmaine 71,917 #2 Posted April 28, 2021 You CAN run wheels from other brands. You will need wheel spacers to correct the backspacing. You will also need to change over to lugs and studs which is a great add-on. You could also check with places like e-trailer.com or many others on the web because there are trailer wheels with the right bolt pattern which is 5X 4.5 and at the 5-in width you're looking for to get a 6x12 AG Tire mounted. It would probably be worth a phone call to Lincoln at A to Z Tractor and see what he has available. I keep a listing on my phone of the adapters, lugs and stud kit etc that are needed to do a changeover. I have a spare set of rims that I would let go at a good price. Freight charges would probably be as much as the rims themselves... There are definitely multiple options depending on what you're looking for. 1
pfrederi 18,566 #3 Posted April 28, 2021 WH used 1-3/8" backset. others frequently used 2-3/8" They will work for a 312-8 if you are not wanting to use chains or have fat tires...

Just shipped a Harley seat one state over and it was $57. Got a quote to ship a WH seat about a month ago and it was $60+

I just did a quick calculation from Portland Maine to Latrobe Pennsylvania. 50 lbs. 24 x 14 x 14 box. $61.
