Dadof2 5 #1 Posted April 25, 2021 Hi, My 1971 Raider's 10hp HH100 starter is worn out. I am looking for a replacement but have only found this one on amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TOFGSBM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A34668PDYO45KB&psc=1 which has an 11 tooth pinion gear instead of 10. There is a review that said they had success using the 11 tooth instead of the 10 but wanted to know if anyone here has had any experience with this particular unit or using an 11 tooth vs. 10 tooth pinion gear? Thanks, Jeff
Gregor 4,847 #2 Posted April 25, 2021 You don't give you engine spec number, or a part number, but, lots of 10 tooth Tecumseh starters on ebay.
Dadof2 5 #3 Posted April 25, 2021 Hi Gregor, Sorry engine number HH100-115145C and the part number I found was 33835. The starter I pulled from the tractor had the number 32817 engraved on the bottom of it. Both those numbers match what is on the starter from description from amazon but the tooth difference worried me. I am going to give it a try. Thanks, Jeff
Gregor 4,847 #4 Posted April 25, 2021 Both of those numbers come up as an 11 tooth pinion. Maybe you should count your toofers again.
