chipwitch 73 #26 Posted April 25, 2021 Ugh... cannot get it started. Initially, I couldn't even get it to fire with starter fluid. Found out there was no power to the coil. The wiring is a mess in this thing so I just jumped it (I know, bad idea). Eventually I'll rewire it. That got it to fire, but would only run as long as there was starter fluid in it. Pulled the fuel line off the carb and turned it over. No fuel. Pulled the fuel line of the in-side of the pump. Gravity would feed fuel. Removed the pump and took it apart. I couldn't see anything wrong so I reinstalled it and tried firing it up with SF and the fuel line off the carb.... When it fired up... I expected to see fuel. Nada.... Replaced the pump with the one on my c125. I got lots of fuel pumping out of it. So, connected everything and managed to get it to start. Ran about a minute before dying. So frustrating. chipwitch 73 #27 Posted April 25, 2021 Success. The wiring is a wreck. Only had 3 female terminals so I couldn't rewire the whole thing, but I bypassed all the wiring and just connected the coil and the regulator to the battery with a wire nut and used a screwdriver key to jump the solenoid. Mowed for about an hour without much issue. There is a little smoke coming from the breather I never noticed before. Checked oil before and after. Probably lost a quarter the distance between "full" and "add" during the one hour.
