TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #27 Posted April 6, 2008 With the "swap" between my brother-in-law and I coming up next weekend, I figured it was about time to get serious with the 210-5 again. (He picked up a B-112 for me a few months ago and will be bringing it to me, and I will be sending the 210-5 back with him so he has something to mow with at their new house.) Long story short, I ended up pulling the head & the breather and checking the valve clearance. The exhaust valve was in spec, but the intake valve was about .003" off the seat. A quick stem tip grinding and I had the clearance set at .008", and everything went back together very smooth. I borrowed the "new" battery from the B-80, and within about 2 revolutions, the engine was running -- and finally running RIGHT! Hobie & I got the deck mounted up after I dressed up the blades, and I gave it a try in the front yard. Hopefully at this time next weekend, it will be in southern PA and ready for work. :D

bustedglass 1 #32 Posted April 6, 2008 Congrats Terry, on your find. My little 211-3 has served me well over the last 22 years. I have cut 2 acres of grass (in season) along with hauling my 275 pounds around, without fail. And I look for a lot of years to come. Your brother in law is a lucky man. P.S. - Nice vid.........
