953 nut 60,333 #3 Posted April 19, 2021 Please tell us a little about your D-200 and what you are doing with it. Have you owned it very long? How did you happen to select the brand for your project? If you would like to add some pictures of your restoration just click on the choose files... at the lower left and that will take you to your computer's photo file. Dave morrin 9 #5 Posted April 20, 2021 Sorry I ‘m a newbie at this. I have owned my D200 for 20 plus years. Hasn’t run for the last couple. Got it running great. Thought about restoring. All original except for seat. Even the tires are original. Will add pics next post. Also have 48 inch rototiller and blade. Thanks for responding. 1
haydendavid380 759 #6 Posted April 20, 2021 Welcome Dave The D's are big strong machine. Whether you just keep it running well or do a restoration on it, it's a great tractor either way. Just depends how much work you want to put into it.
Dave morrin 9 #7 Posted April 20, 2021 Thanks. I’m kinda new at this. All I do with it is till the raspberries and maybe a couple of neighbours gardens. Just looking for info. Should I paint it, protect the decals, change tires, that kind of stuff. I’ll try to post a photo. She’s a good old machine and I want to do it right. Theres two general lines of thought on paint - It's only original once and the other is it's beyond saving and new paint will improve the looks and protection. Decal kits area readily available and relatively inexpensive. There aren't really any disadvantages to new tires. Not a bad thing to do either way. I don't think anyone around here is going to fault you for bringing an old horse back to its former glory Edited April 20, 2021 by haydendavid380

haydendavid380 759 #10 Posted April 20, 2021 (edited) Looks good! It's always a plus to have the 3pt. Does it have the rear PTO and turning brakes? My dad had a 200 nearly identical to that when I was little. Edited April 20, 2021 by haydendavid380
Dave morrin 9 #11 Posted April 20, 2021 Thanks. It does have the rear PTO. That’s really all I use, with the rototiller.
19richie66 17,655 #12 Posted April 21, 2021 Just my two cents... I wouldn’t paint it. She’s earned her keep. I would do a good scrubbing on her, get her cleaned up and protect it with some kind of wax. Lot of guys on here have posted about preserving the patina. @AMC RULES is the patina king in my book. rjg854 12,243 #13 Posted April 21, 2021 (edited) You'd be amazed what a rubdown of Marvel Mystery Oil would do to bring back the color of that tractor. I'm on the wrong device this morning to be able to add pictures of the difference. Before After Edited April 21, 2021 by rjg854 Pictures added 1

See why they call it mystery oil now! . For real tho thst stuff works nice that tractor looks good with that rub down! I'll second that he should try a nice wipe down bet that D200 would look awesome! 1
