Suburban 550 28 #1 Posted June 3, 2009 Picked up Dukes 551 at the NAMA show on Saturday and will be delivering it to him at the big show at the end of June. I am doing a little bit of salvage work for him picking out all the good stuff for him, because this tractor will probably end up a donor tractor so others could live. Here are the pics the day I dropped it off the trailer at my house: Here are some pics of the teardown and salvage operation: I wonder if this is Amsoil coming out of the rear? HorseFixer 2,012 #2 Posted June 3, 2009 I wonder if this is Amsoil coming out of the rear? Yep sure looks like AMSOIL look how clean it looks damn near looks like water comming out of there! Thanks Ray! I appreciate the tear down!
whfan74 2,015 #3 Posted June 4, 2009 So Ray.....just kind of curious what kind of shape is that rear end in? Salvageable? I am happy that Duke is going to finally get her home. I know he appreciates the help in getting her tore down too. He could use a little break as we all know. Great pics!
Suburban 550 28 #4 Posted June 4, 2009 Scott, the rear is very much salvageable. The water that was in it was from standin' out in the weather for the last few months. A good flushin' if it's not torn apart will probably do the trick. Bad shifter booth caused the water problem.

HorseFixer 2,012 #7 Posted June 4, 2009 Same thing. Really hard to distinguish between the two. That's it! <_< I'm not bringing the compressor now, I'm gonna let ya blow up that Air Matress thru a straw!
Suburban 550 28 #8 Posted June 4, 2009 I had no intention of blowing up the air mattress. You'll only be punishing the wife. :omg:
Suburban 550 28 #9 Posted June 5, 2009 Well Duke, good news, tractor is all apart. I only hope I remember to bring it along. Gonna be pretty tight if I have to bring my own compressor along to fill the air mattress.
