JohnD 145 #1 Posted April 4, 2021 Is there any interest in the original tires off my 1983 C-175? They are still in good shape (16x6.5x8 w/ 2/32" tread and 23x9.5x12 w/ 3/32" tread) but I'm going for tires with more traction. If someone is interested I'll have my tire guy keep them for me (ship them or bring them to the Big Show?). If not I'll probably let him dispose of them (or...). I'm guessing they are probably about 13-15 years to young to be of interest. Anyone know how I can tell if these are the originals or not? I don't believe they've been replace but you never know what the PO did...
Jeff-C175 7,206 #2 Posted April 4, 2021 My '80 had Carlisle 2 ply Turf Savers originally. Pieces of them are now serving as 'paddles' on my walk behind snow thrower. Yes, I took a Sawzall to them!
JohnD 145 #3 Posted April 4, 2021 Ooh, I'm seeing value there! Maybe $0.50!
pfrederi 18,713 #4 Posted April 4, 2021 Actually old tires have a negative value. You have to pay to get rid of them. Maybe just maybe if they were in excellent shape and said Wheel horse on them thy might have some positive value...
WHX?? 51,902 #5 Posted April 4, 2021 Bring them to the BS ...sure someone would want them and buy you a soda for them. I never dispose of originals unless they really can't be used again with tubes.
