Travas 13 #1 Posted March 23, 2021 Okay so I have just started it up. It took about 10 tries of it starting and dying. Eventually it fired up and was running at 4000+ rpm. I haven't tried starting it in a while due to its governor not set up correctly. I have no clue which way to turn it and I may sound like an idiot but I have no clue which way the throttle hooked up is supposed to go either. I have no cable on it because I have no way to get the lever off without damaging it. The ends are to big to fit through hole for the choke lever to go up or down. theres an old cable stuck in the cable holder and is very hard to move. Any help will do

WHX?? 51,705 #4 Posted March 24, 2021 Not a pro here on that engine but I can if I haven't done so . The good Lord says help those who help themselves to the multitude of manuals we have here tho. Look in the files section for a manual or use your shout out you can't find it.

Travas 13 #9 Posted March 25, 2021 Okay do thanks to all of you guys for the help. I may have found the issue. So I was looking through the manuals and found this (black white pic) so I went to look for that on mine because I'm sure it wasn't there. When I got mower it still had it's battery from 2000, no exhaust or cable from choke lever. So got out side to check if that screw was there and it's not. All it does is increase or decrease rpm. I think I'm missing other stuff. But I'm not sure. I don't know if that's my issue or not. I may just be setting my governor wrong.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,450 #10 Posted March 26, 2021 The B&S OM (operator manual) may help. The throttle cable needs to pull on the spring that is connected to the governor arm. Have seen some have 2 springs. Garry
