Jimepling 2 #1 Posted March 5, 2021 Hi all. I am an old guy new to WH tractors. I actually have (2) 314-8 tractors, (2) 42” SD mowers, and a front blade. I have an opportunity to buy a 712519 tiller, with which I hope to help some friends with their gardens. It would be an all-day drive to pick it up, so I want to be sure it will fit. From some pictures it looks like it might work, even though it is about 20 years older than the tractor (1990’s): Do you think it will work well, and is there anything in particular that I should look for.or ask questions about? Thanks so your help!
stevasaurus 23,098 #2 Posted March 5, 2021 This chart might help...not sure that number is correct. 712519 should be like 7-1251 We have manuals for tillers in the Manuals Section / Impliments / Ground Engaging.
Jimepling 2 #3 Posted March 5, 2021 Sorry for the typo - should be 7 1251 9. Thanks
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,267 #4 Posted March 6, 2021 The 9 on the end tells you the model year. 9-5=4=1974 They started to use the same model number for multiple years and the addition of the 6th digit identified the year. The same was done with the tractor models at the time. 6, 7, 8 and 9 was used for 1971, 1972, 1973 and 1974.
Jimepling 2 #5 Posted March 6, 2021 Thanks- that’s a big help. Earlier, when the seller couldn’t find the model number, I bought a manual for a 36” tiller on eBay that looked like the photos he sent me. The manual, however, did not reference a model number and said it was used for 1978 and later C series, single cylinder engine tractors. So, that didn’t help much. The seller just found the model number today and sent it to me. I think now I can try to strike a deal with him. I live in big Gravely tractor country, but I decided to go with a WH after riding a Gravely, even though I don’t know anyone who has one, so there is no support locally. Thanks so much again for your help!
