Anyone have a 1993 310-8?

The 310-8's never got the row of idiot lights on the dash tower. Instead they had a single low-oil light.

In 1993 I think they eliminated the light but used the same low-oil switch in the engine and the relay to control the starter - just no light.

They were also using a different ignition switch plus a seat relay to control the ignition.

That makes a total of 2 relays.

The wiring diagram in the operator manual and the diagrams in the Demystification Guide are different plus the parts list show only one relay. None of them agree.

How many relays does the 1993 310-8 have?

If it has only one relay does it have the low-oil switch?

If it has one relay what is the M10 spec number on the engine?

Bumping this up for Garry.

Close but no cigar!    I have a '92 310-8 with engine spec # 46154. No oil switch, no warning lights of any kind, and two relays. One relay is fed by the seat switch and the other is a start relay.

My 85 310-8 still has the K-series and no switch or light either.

Thanks for the response.

Does the decal on the engine have the 46154 spec number on it or are you going by what Toro has listed?

All the M10 spec numbers I see are 6 digits.

The relay for the seat switch would control the ignition.

If there is no oil switch so what controls the start relay?

Here is what I found so far for 1992 low oil switches.

M10-461533 - (1992?) This engine listed by Kohler as used by Wheel Horse but no record at Toro

M10- 46154 - Listed by Toro for 1992 310-8 31-10K803 but is listed by Kohler as built for Sanborn M10-461540 if it has 6 digits (typo?)

M10-461545 - Listed in the 1992 310-8 31-10K803 ipl as the engine used

The ipl also shows a low oil light but no test switch for the 1992 310-8.

The number on the engine is 461545, when I went to the "ALL YEARS" list I only saw five numerals so figured I had written down an extra 5.

I have never taken the time to trace the wires for the second relay but there is one wire that connects to the solenoid.

1992 and 1993 wiring diagrams from the operator manuals are identical.

Your other start relay wires appear to match the diagrams.
