Ron K 1 #1 Posted January 27, 2021 I have a 1990 wheel horse classic with a 10hp magnum motor. I would like to change it over to a k321 or k341 engine. My 10hp has the oil pan with the flanges. Do i need to get a magnum motor with the flanges to bolt right up to the tractor and is there anything else i would need to do to swap.

WHX?? 51,733 #3 Posted January 27, 2021 I would think it would bolt right up but I am not a late model pro. Others will be along to advise and
pfrederi 18,664 #4 Posted January 27, 2021 Welcome Just about any large base K series engine should bolt on. See pined thread on how to identify the block base size K series may be battery or magneto. if it is battery you will have to change ignition switch. Also you will need to make sure the crankshaft is long enough.
8ntruck 7,833 #6 Posted January 27, 2021 Welcome to the forum. If you have a manual clutch on the PTO, you will need a Wheel Horse spec engine that has the proper thrust bearing to take the axial load on the crank shaft that the manual PTO clutch generates. If you have an electric PTO clutch, the thrust bearing on the crank shaft will not be needed. Good luck and have fun.
953 nut 59,917 #7 Posted January 27, 2021 When you have located a replacement please post the Kohler Spec Number here so we can let you know if it has the thrust bearings and what modifications may be needed on your wiring system. 1
