dodge78 94 #4 Posted May 27, 2009 why would you put green and yellow on red Because all of the 520 axles are too expensive.
fritz 1 #5 Posted May 27, 2009 I would try it. If you works you figured out something. if it dont work then you learned something also. So either way you win. and if it works your horse will just live much longer!! fritz
kpinnc 14,589 #6 Posted May 27, 2009 And why would you put green and yellow on red If I had no other choice, I would use whatever means to keep a horse running. They make red paint for such things... Do whatever you need to Dan. It's your tractor. In the real world would you bred a horse with a deere? I DON'T THINK SO!!! so why in the world would you Bring up such a subject here! Thats like sacred sacrilege thing here! What are you trying to be DR. Frankenweiney. RED IS HOT, GREEN IS NOT! And this was completely out of line. The man is simply trying to make his tractor do what he needs it to. Dan didn't ask anyone's opinion of what to do, he asked a technical question- Will it fit. If it means so much to some that they would rather badger him, then why don't you offer him a free axle like he needs. Otherwise, keep such opinions to yourselves. If you have a problem with that, feel free to PM me about it. We can take it up with an administrator of the site. It would be FAR worse to let a tractor sit unused because of such silliness. Bolt on parts until you find what you need, or keep it modified. I have several modified machines (and know many others who have some too), and I've found that they are just as much fun and in many ways more sought after than factory set ups. If you have ANY 1970-era (that aren't NOS ones), I doubt you've been offered $2500 for any of them. I have, but I wouldn't sell my Bronco for twice that- and it is HIGHLY modified. I'm closing this thread, as it has done enough damage in my opinion. Consider yourselves warned- You can offer a decent opinion, but any badgering posts like this in the future will be deleted.
