K341 Dipstick Tube

Recommended Posts

Bill D

I bought a 13 fin K341.  The dipstick tube is thick steel and is machined on one end to fit into the aluminum piece that attaches to the block.  These pieces have come apart and are loose.  What's the best way to put them back together so they don't leak?  Thanks.  Bill

Can I solder it?  Never tried soldering steel to aluminum.  Bill

Soldering won't work. It was just pressed together at the factory, tight interference fit. Clean both parts the best you can and use JB Weld as Jay suggested.

Why not clean both surfaces....apply solvent resistant silicone, press together, and DONE ? Can still seperate and repair if need arises.:greetings-clappingyellow:
