Bill D 2,248 #1 Posted December 31, 2020 I bought a 13 fin K341. The dipstick tube is thick steel and is machined on one end to fit into the aluminum piece that attaches to the block. These pieces have come apart and are loose. What's the best way to put them back together so they don't leak? Thanks. Bill

Bill D 2,248 #3 Posted January 1, 2021 Can I solder it? Never tried soldering steel to aluminum. Bill
953 nut 59,967 #4 Posted January 1, 2021 Soldering won't work. It was just pressed together at the factory, tight interference fit. Clean both parts the best you can and use JB Weld as Jay suggested.
johnnymag3 2,568 #5 Posted January 1, 2021 Why not clean both surfaces....apply solvent resistant silicone, press together, and DONE ? Can still seperate and repair if need arises.
